Finding that elusive sunrise

May 28th, 2010 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

Here is a cool site that shows sun rise and sunset times. Check the name. Nice interface and digs into Google maps, so you can find your way around

here is screen shot from The Organ Pipes park.
For those interested in the way light plays over landscapes, this a super way to research without standing there.
Also does the moon thing too. But no sun rise direction. Pity.

Finding a home for all this so it can become useful is my next chore

May 27th, 2010 by · 2 Comments · Uncategorized

Now that I am convinced that technology can work, I suppose I must find a real home for it all.
Seems pointless to me to have blogs there, wikis over there, email someplace else.

Will have to ponder how that goes.

Now I am amusing myself

May 16th, 2010 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

Yep, it works.

The two ads should be above, with nothing to read.

Also for clarity need to delete the previous “nothing” post.  But after all its freeeeee.

Picture 1This is the edit page in Edublogs and the two posts are (no title),   cool.

I think I worked out the ads in Edublog

My guess is that when you create a new post, Edublogs, inserts the two funny edublogs banner ads in the middle of the post.

That way, when it is the latest post, it always carries the banners.
Soo me thinks that it would be sensible as a user, to create a post like this and then immediately create a second one with just a character or two, and then the new real blog would not have the ads.

Let’s see

What sort of learner am I?

May 14th, 2010 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

Did choose to travel through the learning styles thing the other day.
Even did the test.  Well, I am somewhat in the middle.

That is the sort of person I am can’t make up my mind.  Would have made a good financial analyst.  ”on the one hand,  but on the other….”  Was it Roosevelt who said, “Give me a one armed economist”?

While clicking away here is sort of fun, it does take up a lot of time.

For me I would liked to have a few more direct steps, or something that eliminates the click on this page, do this, click back, click back again, make another change, click back…….

But maybe I want it too easy ah?

Mr Hooper Press today announced the publication of “On the Wings of the Wind”, by David Jenkins.
This coffee table style photo book follows the season of the birth and fledging of a pair of Nankeen Kestrels chicks in the 2009/10 summer.
David says, ““Come on the journey as these amazing birds shared a small part of their life with me.”
